The Colours of the Ara Pacis
Event organized by the City of Rome on August 19, for the bimillennium of the death of Augustus.
The Colours of the Ara Pacis is back with its light projections on both the western front of the altar, with panels of Aeneas and the Lupercal, and on the eastern front, with those of Tellus, the goddess Roma and the great vegetal frieze. The project aims brings back to life the original colours of the monument, through a sophisticated lighting system.
Special late night opening of the Ara Pacis Museum on August 19th, from 21.00 to 24.00 (last admission at 23.00), with the screenings of "The Colours of the Ara Pacis" and the exhibition "The Art of the Command. The Legacy of Augustus" (tickets: € 11,00).
