Toulouse-Lautrec

About 170 works of art coming from Budapest Arts Museum, arrive in Rome for a major exhibition on Toulouse Lautrec; the bohémien painter of the second half of the19 th century Paris, that aims to show the life of the artist from 1891 to 1900, just before his death, at only 36 years.

The exhibition, promoted by the Assessorato alla Cultura e allo Sport di Roma – Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali, is produced by the Arthemisia Group in collabaration with Zètema Progetto Cultura. An occasion to see in Rome the very heart of Toulouse- Lautrec’s collection from Budapest’s Art Museum (Szépmű vészeti Múzeum), one of the most important in Europe, with several works of art, from the Middle Ages to the twentyfirst century.
On the occasion it will be possible to know in the round thanks to Zsuzsa Gonda and Kata Bodor’s works of art, about 170 litographies of the collection (among which eight big affiches and two covers of the French singer Yvette Guilbert ’s albums with about 10 litographies). The exhibition is leaving Budapest to be exposed in the Ara Pacis from 4th december 2015 to 8th may 2016.
It will be possible to know Toulouse-Lautrec’s works of art: posters, illustrations, covers of scores and fliers, among which authentic rarities printed in limited editions, signed, numbered and supplied by the artist.
